In March 2005, the College of Optometrists and Optician joined forces to conduct a major survey into consumer behaviour, motivation and attitudes to eye care and eyewear. The research provided a useful insight into the public's view of 'opticians' and showed that consumers were generally comfortable and satisfied with the profession's role at that time.
So how have recent developments affected the consumer's view of the profession and its role? Have consumers changed their behaviour as a result?
