Frames: Spring looks ahead

With all optical tradeshows postponed for the foreseeable future, Optician takes a look at a selection of new frame releases for the spring season

Independent British eyewear manufacturer Bird Sunglasses has released a new sunglass model for the spring season. Keeping in line with its eco-friendly credentials, the release combines a selection of different woods on the temples with coloured acetate rims to create an attractive, festival-ready frame.

The Kaka comes in a classic, slightly cat-eyed panto shape and features a keyhole bridge. Named after an endangered New Zealand parrot, the Kaka frame’s wooden temples are adorned with elegant aluminium branding and come with FSC certification. Available in optical versions, the eco-friendly Kaka frame also uses renewable bio-acetate making it a perfect option for the eco-conscious customer.
