Fundus examination

? Her left eye revealed a paler optic disc with inferior notch and vertical cup disc ratio of 0.9 which had remained unchanged from her visit in November 2007 (Figure 1)

? The right optic disc again remained unchanged, with cupping remaining at 0.7. The black arrow (Figure 2) shows that the superior has visible nerve fibres while the inferior shows no white fibre lines - in essence we can say thinning of the inferior nerve fibre layer

? A very close look at the disc revealed a fading haemorrhage on the inferior aspect of the disc which was not present at her last visit a year ago (Figure 2 - white arrow and magnified view of the fading haemorrhage).
