The patient was born in 1994 and was first noted to have dislocated lenses at the age of three years and he was referred for review to Great Ormond Street Hospital at three and a half years of age. His mother had Marfan’s syndrome and she had poor vision, especially in her left eye which had previously had a detached retina. She had had bad experiences herself at hospital and was registered partially sighted, so she was very concerned about her son’s future.
