
Specsavers has announced expansion plans that included the addition of new practices, extra consultation rooms and upgrades to existing sites.
The multiple said it was committed to these plans despite ongoing challenges faced by retailers because of the coronavirus pandemic.
It estimated that at least five million people in the UK have missed out on essential eye and hearing tests, potentially putting their overall health at risk.
Paul Marshall, Specsavers UK managing director, explained to Optician that one of the main challenges practices faced during the pandemic was maintaining the health and wellbeing of patients and colleagues while making sure it can see the people who need to access care.
