In Focus: From correction to management

A practical guide to managing myopia has been created by the World Council of Optometry (WCO) and CooperVision to showcase experiences of providing services to patients.

The WCO said the guide included expertise from four optometrists who shared insights into what myopia management entailed and how standards of care were incorporated into their
practices.

In March 2021, a resolution was made by the WCO and CooperVision to establish a standard of care for myopia management to stem worldwide progression.

It set out to highlight the importance of why the optometric profession needed to address myopia and create evidence-based guidelines to apply in practice.
