While some developments will take time to reach the market, others are already available. Surgical approaches to presbyopia are widely advertised as alternatives to optical correction. Corneal inlays are among the emerging technologies. Cataract surgery now involves a multitude of intraocular lens options, such as trifocal, multifocal toric and accommodating designs.
