Jai Kudo, part of Millmead Optical Group, says its Optishade lenses change from clear to dark when exposed to sunlight, offer 100% UV protection (up to 400nm) and, once back indoors, quickly fade back to clear. The company offers Optishade in single vision, Drivesense or its progressive Wideview range. Available in brown or grey, the photochromic lenses can also be combined with coatings including Blue Shield, Hydro+ and Infinity XT.The company noted that lenses darken to 25% transmission in around 90 seconds with a fade-back speed of around three minutes once back indoors.
