Mido is a show of ambition in Milan

As a focus for the latest in creative eyewear design and technological innovation, Mido aims to continue to grow and evolve. Phoebe Tilelli reports from Milan

Mido Display-2Mido is considered by many to be the most anticipated international optical trade fair of the year. This year’s event took place from February 28 to March 2 and happened to be the 45th edition of the long running show. With this in mind, Mido aimed to revamp its overall image with the slogan ‘New, Never Ending Wonder’.

It was clear to see that in a traditional European country like Italy, Milan is a city that is forever reinventing itself and Mido is no exception. The event turned out to be record-breaking with 49,000 visitors representing a rise of 8.7 per cent compared to 2014. There was a 10 per cent increase in floor space this year along with 150 new companies participating for the first time.
