Cullinan1 described how 'many older people who accept poor sight as a consequence of the ageing process and have done little to change it', and therefore they may not consider using better lighting within their home to improve their visual performance. Cost is a major factor many people do not understand the benefits of using good light, while many others who need to upgrade or change their lighting do not know how and where to get information and advice.
