Australian cricketer Bill Ponsford was a contemporary of the greatest of all batsmen, Don Bradman. He played in 29 test matches for Australia from 1924 to 1934, earning a fine reputation as a batsman and fielder. He remains one of only two players to have made two first class scores of over 400 (Brian Lara is the other). His full first class and Test record is shown in Table 1.
