Newly qualified dispensing optician Felicity Tennant makes use of her law education by offering support to youth offenders in Leicester. Luke Haynes reports

Helping people has always been important to Felicity Tennant. As an individual who actively seeks to better her community and those in it, the dispensing optician from Leicester is part of a team of volunteers that supports young people, who find themselves on the wrong side of the law.

‘I started at Leicester and Rutland Youth Offending Service (YOS) in 2013. Knowing people who worked within different community service roles, I felt that I wanted to do something as well. I wanted to keep it within the law sector as I didn’t want to waste my education and my years within the legal profession, so it was a nice crossover and I could utilise and enhance my skills to a certain degree,’ she says.
