Restricting myopia

The Opticians Act evidence show concerns of myopia and outlines new guidance

The GOC’s call for evidence for the review of the Opticians Act closed on July 18 and the regulator is now analysing information collected. An update detailing a proposed schedule and a summary of review findings is scheduled for September.

The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) submission to the GOC’s call for evidence made specific and extended reference to myopia. Responding to a question that asked what activities non-registrants should be restricted or prevented from doing, ABDO included a section on myopia management within its reply.
