Imagine being able to film everything you saw. Not too interesting if all you're doing is pushing a trolley round Sainsbury's but if you're riding switch in the half pipe at Val d'Isere and you've just pulled off a 720-degree spin, you might want to show your hard work to friends.

With its Third Eye goggle camera, Rip Curl Eyewear has provided extreme sports enthusiasts with the chance to become mobile cameramen with a ski mask that integrates a high-resolution video camera with digital camcorder quality.

The camera measures just 20mm x 80mm, weighs 60g and is waterproof to a depth of 1m. It is housed in a rubber sleeve that is secured to the goggle strap. A digital recorder still needs to be tucked away in the wearer's pocket or rucksack.
And, as with a lot of other electronic gadgets at present, the price is surprisingly cheap. The supplier suggests a retail price of £399, which includes the goggle itself.
