Short story: Can a blind man be a bank job lookout?

Like most police officers, Detective Inspector Luke Stott was not a fan of fictional police stories. They invariably get the procedure wrong in some detail, and there is never the respect for senior officers that is a requirement for a properly functioning police service.

He would, though, be aware of the best known fictional detectives. Although he was not even born when the first Pink Panther films were released, they were repeated often enough for Stott to become familiar with, and even enjoy, the hapless Inspector Clouseau.

Nobody could be more aware, therefore, of the risk that he would be taking in even asking this question: the ridicule that would be heaped upon him if the press ever got whiff of it. Nevertheless, the question still had to be asked:‘How can a blind man be a lookout?’
