The importance of workplace eye care

Andrew McClean explores how business owners are looking after their employees’ eye health and how practices can provide easy options

A survey has revealed that 61% of businesses provide eye care to their staff, but only 32% provide it for all of their employees.

Specsavers Corporate Eyecare asked more than 500 human resources decision-makers in private and public businesses in the UK about what eye care they provide to staff.

When asked if they provide workplace eye care, 32% said yes for all employees, 13% said they offer it for screen users, 9% provide it as a staff benefit, 8% for staff who require safety eyewear, 5% for drivers and 39% said no.

The multiple explained that the net figures show that 28% of employers provide eye care to some, but not all, employees.
