Quite a few exhibitors in Paris had anniversary celebrations of their own and considerable numbers had revisited their archives, with vintage or 'retro geek' shapes to the fore. That's not to say that all vintage frames were direct copies of models past. Updated techniques were used and technical flourishes were also prominent, with cutouts, inserts and 3D textural changes. Again the sides were the centre of attention, with all manner of patterns and laminations. A number of manufacturers are now placing the branding on the inner temples in metal motifs, with the wearer aware of luxury details that aren't immediately apparent.
