The Aerolite is a featherweight piece which performs well for running and cycling

Aerolite, supplied by Lenstec, weighs in at just 23g while the Aero, which sports a brow bar, weighs in at 25.5g. Coupled to both is the Zebra shield lens in photochromic Trivex. The base 6 shield provides a wide field of view with the tint coping with all light levels on bright and overcast days.

The Aerolite is a featherweight piece which performs well for running and cycling, it is light, secure and the airflow around the shield prevents fogging. The Aero feels more suited to cycling with its brow bar offering a barrier to the sun and the ingress of dirt, debris and too much cold airflow on fast descents. The Aero, also on a base 6, was a tighter fit, useful for the more head-down sport positioning. Both models use GripTech features such as the wishbone temple to cushion the ear and 3D mouldable nose pads, both have a vented temple and lens mounting to increase airflow.

Lenstec has increased the emphasis on lenses and the Zebra photochromic Trivex lens was well suited to the varying light, glare and rain of an autumn ride. The variant on test, Zebra Light was a cat 1-3 lens, the Zebra is a cat 2-4. Both models have a large eye size to accommodate a prescription insert. The clip-in insert works surprisingly well; only fogging when stopped at the end of a hard run or ride on a cold day. The field of view is reduced, but not drastically and the insert adds the flexibility of low cost prescription optics.

Clicking it out enables the Aero to be used in plano format with contact lenses offering flexible sports eyewear with flexible prescription options.
