Vision Expo: Catch a show in New York

Simon Jones travels to Manhattan to take in two optical trade shows

There’s a certain something about walking through Manhattan on a crisp winter’s day to the Javits Center for Vision Expo East, something no other optical trade show has: a central city location. 

Talk to long-time members of the industry about trade show days gone by and they will say things along the lines of ‘Silmo was much better when it was at Porte de Versailles’ or ‘I preferred Mido when it was closer to the city.’  

Optical trade shows have changed significantly over the years, more so since the coronavirus pandemic, but Vision Expo East still has the central Manhattan location up its sleeve. Of all the events that could see business mixed with pleasure, it is head and shoulders above the rest.
