Surgical procedures
Oxford University Press has just published a completely revamped second edition of the Clinical Atlas of Procedures in Ophthalmic and Oculofacial Surgery by Daniel Albert and Mark Lucarelli. This weighty tome (over 1,000 pages) is a sister companion to the equally voluminous Clinical Eye Atlas and, whereas that book with its detailing of the signs, symptoms and management of ocular disease is obviously of interest to the optometrist, the surgical text may seem somewhat specialised at first glance to be of interest to our profession. However, I challenge any eye care practitioner not to be immediately engrossed in the detailed and graphic photographs of almost every surgical procedure in and around the eye.
