100-year-old patient re-opens Scrivens practice

George Baker opened the new practice in Wolverhampton

A 100-year-old patient has re-opened a Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care practice in Wolverhampton following a move to a new site.

George Baker was chosen to open the Dudley Street practice and received a gift voucher and flowers as a thank you from Scrivens.

‘I was a bit startled and wondered why they would choose me. They have got to know me over the years. I have dealt with Scrivens since I moved to the Midlands. They have all been first rate and always very polite and very efficient,’ Baker said.

Baker was born in London and moved to the Midlands in 1983. He worked in the gas industry, starting as an apprentice and retiring as a technical officer in charge of training apprentices, and also served for six years in the army.
