Anniversary marked with online practitioner resource charting its history
US-based diagnostic equipment manufacturer Reichert Technologies has marked the 100th anniversary of the phoropter with an online practitioner resource charting the instrument’s development.
Beginning with the patent registration of the word ‘phoroptor’ in January 1922, the resource looks at the various iterations of the device, including the Additive Effective Power 589 Phoroptor that was released in 1934, which included the addition of the Jackson Cross Cylinder lenses. These led to the question, ‘which is better? One or two?’
