Optical professionals are in short supply in certain areas of the UK as more than a third of the workforce is based in just three regions, according to new research.
Results of an Optical Workplace Survey by recruiter Prospect Health showed London, the south east and north west of England, was home to 39% of all GOC-registered staff. London alone accounted for 16% of them.
The areas where there was least supply of optometrists were the east and north east of England.
