Trial frame appeal
n I recently visited Uganda with Vision Aid Overseas at the invitation of Sight Savers in Kampala to provide continuing education in refraction techniques.
Sight Savers provides all new OCOs at the conclusion of their yearÕs course at Jinja with ophthalmoscopes, cross cyls, trial frames, but no retinoscopes. The VAO team felt that simple drop cell trial frames were more successful to use and handle by the Ugandans than the oculist types supplied.
I was wondering if anyone has any of the foregoing items lying unused in boxes in their practices. Items can be sent to Hayes Optical Co, 1 Colham Mill Road, West Drayton, Middlesex, UB7 7DG. I would be pleased to refund postage. Does anybody also have any old-style electric frame heaters that could be reused?

Student reunion
n We are planning a grand reunion of the 1949-52 students from Northampton Polytechnic to be held on the weekend of October 4-6 2002 at The George, Stamford. We are trying to trace John Gillett, Bernard Miles, Brian Mulcahy, Alwyn Stockley and Brian Rawling.
If anyone should know their whereabouts, please contact Terry Bond at The Cottage, Nicker Hill, Keyworth, Nottingham, NG12 5EA or Nancy Dunn at 81 Parkside Way, Harrow, Middlesex HA2 6DB.
