The board of dispensers' body ABDO had its first meeting with area representatives this week.

ABDO president James Russell, pictured (left) with Barry Duncan from Scotland, told optician that discussions focused on the delivery of CET locally to members and how to maintain the quality of the courses while keeping costs down. 'We also discussed where we stand on the Section 60 and what it means in practice, and also how our members feel about important matters. They've obviously had a hard time regarding CET points and wondering what the decision of the GOC would be for points gained recently.' Russell looked forward to the next meeting with area representatives on November 9. ABDO's board will meet next in early July.
