ABDO College principal moving on

The Association of British Dispensing Optician’s (ABDO) College principal Dr Robert Cubbidge is moving on from his current role to focus on optometry and his academic interests.

Clive Marchant, chair of ABDO College trustees, said: ‘I would like to thank Rob for all his efforts over the last two years and I am sure you will join me in wishing him all the best in the next stage of his career.’

ABDO College will appoint an experienced interim principal to lead the implementation of the General Optical Council’s (GOC) new education and training requirements and next phase of educating future dispensing opticians.

It will later recruit a permanent successor and will advertise details of the role in due course.
