ABDO creates menopause advice

The organisation has developed guidance to support members who are affected

Guidance about the symptoms, legislation and responsibilities of employers and employees relating to the menopause has been published by the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO).

It included advice for managers speaking to employees, a template to aid confidential discussions and other supporting resources.

Max Halford, clinical lead at ABDO, said: ‘ABDO is committed to ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of its members, employees and the patients we care for, ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

‘With this is mind, the organisation has developed guidance to support members who are affected in any way by the menopause, to support and inform their managers and ensure that people reporting issues are treated fairly and given appropriate support.’
