ABDO holds inaugural myopia event

A conference entirely focused on myopia management was held in Birmingham on October 29-30 by the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO).

Speakers included Professor James Wolffsohn, who presented on prevalence, risks and aetiology, and Dr Alicia Thompson highlighted the importance of paediatric fit for eyewear.

Dr Thompson, ABDO director of education, research and professional development, said: ‘The enthusiastic engagement and participation was palpable from early on the Sunday morning until the end of Monday. It was an honour for us to present lectures from such world-renowned speakers.’
