ABDO has offered its members the chance to access 25 key British standards regarding frames, lenses and contact lenses via the members’ portal.
In order to view these standards, members will need to login to the members’ area of the portal and visit the page titled members benefits and services.
ABDO’s head of CET Alex Webster said: ‘Although not something required in everyday dispensing practice, there are occasions when it is necessary to consult a British Standard to ensure we are doing the best for our customers. ABDO members now have free-of-charge, online-view access to those standards that are relevant to our varied scope of practice including: ophthalmic dispensing, personal eye-protection, low vision, contact lenses and glazing.
‘This valuable resource will ensure both qualified and student members can be certain that the products and services they are supplying are conforming to the required standards.’
