Sir Antony Garrett, general secretary of the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has responded to concerns raised by its members that it has not done enough in defending their interests with regards to issues such as GOC fee increases.
Speaking about ABDO's reaction to news of the registration fee increases, he said: 'As soon as we heard what was happening, we were straight to the GOC, we've fought that quite forcefully and the GOC have agreed to look at the issue in the future. We were very unhappy about the level of increase and the fact that you cannot pay in instalments.'
