ABDO’s policy lead steps down

​Debbie McGill will step down as head of policy and public affairs

Debbie McGill will step down as head of policy and public affairs at the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) after five years in the role.

McGill was appointed head of primary care services at NHS Tayside and will take on the role from January, 2023.

Tony Garrett, ABDO general secretary, said: ‘We are fortunate to have had the skill and dedication of Debbie for the past five years and we will miss her drive and enthusiasm and I would like to thank her for her service to ABDO.’

Alistair Bridge will become chief executive at ABDO in January after Garrett’s retirement.
