ABDO to be Gold Corporate Supporter of WCSM

The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) will be the Gold Corporate Supporters of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (WCSM) in 2025.

ABDO succeeded ophthalmic product manufacturer Rayner to support the WCSM, particularly its Spectacle Makers’ annual lecture, City of London eye health sessions and research medal programme.

WCSM supported the merger of the Faculty of Dispensing Opticians and ABDO in 1986 while ABDO College took over the WCSM’s courses for optical technicians and optical assistants in 2015.

Master Spectacle Maker, Liz Shilling, said: ‘As ABDO moves towards its 50^th Anniversary and the Company approaches its 400^th Anniversary, we look forward to continuing to work together and supporting each other”.
