ABDO updates level two child safeguarding with Ofqual accreditation

The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has launched an updated ABDO CPD child safeguarding level two course this month, now accredited by Ofqual.

Designed to strengthen understanding and application of child safeguarding practices in the optical sector, the course was approved for two non-interactive GOC CPD points, in the communication and professionalism domains.

Alex Webster, professional development director at ABDO, commented: ‘The professional development team have worked hard to review and update our longstanding child safeguarding course to ensure it is relevant for 2025 and beyond.’

While the qualification was mandatory for some, Webster encouraged all ABDO members to complete the training to meet GOC standards.
