Aberdeen store makes most of Cheltenham link

Aberdeen-based Frame-Up Opticians, one of optical group Duncan & Todd's practices, was the first to receive an upgraded computer system recently.

The practice, which has also undergone a major re-fit, switched over to the PCS Cheltenham Practice Management System to increase its marketing potential. According to the practice's general manager Maria Gilmour (pictured above left), the new computer system will allow staff to consider previously unavailable promotional opportunities. Ms Gilmour said: 'We had been using the Optic system, but without support we were in a very precarious position. PCS Cheltenham have transferred all our existing details, and provided us with useful marketing information at the same time.' The new system, which is linked to a centralised marketing facility at the group's head office, has been installed at all of Duncan & Todd's 13 practices. It will allow each practice computer to be remotely accessed in order to update system data and provide on-line support and training. 'With practices from Dundee to Banff, this is a major benefit to the group,' Ms Gilmour added.
