French optical company Acuitis launches practice in London

French optical company Acuitis has entered the UK retail market following the launch of a contemporary practice on London’s Tottenham Court Road.

The practice, employing 13 people across optical and hearing care, opened its doors on March 29 through a funding tie-up with hearing giant Widex.

It sells an in-house range of men’s, women’s and children’s optical frames and sunglasses, priced between £40 and £300 including lenses. The collections are all designed by French eyewear artist Frederic Beausoleil (pictured), who included designs paying homage to historic icons including John Lennon, Ray Charles and Marilyn Monroe – all showcased in the new store.

Free audiology assessments were also being offered, together with the fitting of Widex hearing glasses and TV streaming hearing aids. Hearing tests were free, while a 30-minute eye exam including a Wave Analyser costs £25.
