Agency boosts appointments

Neil MacArthur Eyecare has seen a 25 per cent increase in appointments over the last three months with the help of a direct marketing group.

The Leeds-based opticians, which has seven branches and has an annual turnover of £2m, said Redkite Direct Marketing had helped it achieve the improvement.
Redkite's contact centre, also based in Leeds, issues presumptive appointments to existing patients, and these letters are followed up by telephone calls to convert them into confirmed bookings.
Area manager for Neil MacArthur, Phil Howlett, said: 'The system has increased efficiency and allowed us to utilise our time much more effectively. The feedback is that our patients are pleased to be contacted and reminded.'
