AIO conference staged

Over 120 independent optometrists and dispensing opticians from around the UK descended on Eastwell Manor in Kent last week for the Association for Independent Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (AIO) annual conference.

The first day eased practitioners into proceedings with a trip to Dover Castle, while the second day saw 14 clinical presentations and a day-long exhibition with likes of Topcon, Optos and William Morris London showing their latest products.

The third day began with the AIO AGM, which saw Peter Warren take over as chairman from David Beaumont and the announcement of an agreement of mutual support between AIO and eye care provider Eyeplan. The event concluded with nine presentations on business and practice management.
