Earlier this year Alcon announced a £500,000 investment to promote contact lenses by taking its messages direct to the point of spectacle frame sales.
It’s not every day that a contact lens supplier announces that it intends to spend half a million pounds supporting independent practices. Alcon’s 'Give it a Go' campaign has just that ambition by working alongside the promotion of spectacles with specially designed frame tags and promotions, something Alcon claimed was a first.
Independent practices taking part can offer six of their customers a month’s worth of Alcon contact lenses for free. By lowering the barrier to access Alcon hopes more spectacle wearers will explore the possibility of contact lenses. Lenses in the offer include Dailies Total1, Dailies AquaComfort Plus Toric, Dailies AquaComfort Plus Multifocal and Airoptix Colours. This enables the practice to target particular groups of potential wearers.
