Multiple chains and optical bodies have supported Road Safety Week

Multiple chains and optical bodies have supported Road Safety Week (November 21-27) as the darker winter evenings draw in.

The Optical Confederation backed a campaign by road safety charity Brake and sponsored by Specsavers, asking people to ‘Make the Pledge’ to drive less and protect those around them.

Specsavers also used the event to distribute high visibility vests to local schools (see picture).

Meanwhile, MPs have backed a Vision Express campaign to end fatal road collisions at the hands of visually-impaired motorists.

The campaign has called on the government to display ‘Eye Tests Saves Lives’ signs across major highways during Road Safety Week.
