Mainline Instruments has announced the launch of its hand-held fundus imaging device, the Optomed Aurora.
The company said it was the first hand-held instrument with a 50º FOV for wider clinical opportunities. The fundus imaging technology, with its non-mydriatic retinal camera and 4in colour screen, has an easy-to-use interface and its compact shape means it is suitable for clinics of all sizes.
The Birmingham-based supplier of ophthalmic instruments has developed the new technology using feedback from its previous product, the Smartscope PRO.
The Aurora has been ergonomically designed with an improved battery life and dual charger technology. Mainline said it has received positive feedback since the product was launched at Optrafair this year.
