The Eye Health Alliance has been appointed chair of the Health Hotel, a joint association which organises a series of key health events at political party conferences each year.
The Health Hotel brings together 35 organisations with a strong interest in health policy, ensuring important health issues are debated at key times in the political agenda.
Speaking on behalf ofthe optical bodies, FODO chief executive David Hewlett said: 'Never have health, social care, professional and support systems been more important to the people of this country. They will be big ticket items at the General Election, with the added concerns raised by the current financial crisis. I speak on behalf of all my colleagues in the optical sector when I say how honoured we are to be chairing the Health Hotel at this crucial time.'
