AO Pro Easy comes in high-index option

American Optical has extended its AO Pro Easy progressive lens range, with the introduction of a 1.67 high-index plastic material.

The company said that the 1.67 high-index plastic and the use of 'Freeform surfacing technology' enabled practitioners to dispense one of today's most popular progressives in a material that offered viewing performance, comfort and cosmetics for the presbyope. 'Use of AO's patented smoothing principle ensures the smoothest possible distribution of power and astigmatism across the lens, guaranteeing easy adaptation and total wearer comfort, while maintaining optimum utility. 'The patented design is set apart from other 'general purpose' progressive lenses and promises to facilitate ease of accuracy of dispensing for practice staff. Its patented design features 'superposition' of hard and soft progressive components to provide the 'perfect balance' of visual utility across all viewing zones,' said Peter Robertson, marketing and communications director. AO Pro Easy comes in five materials Ð CR39, polycarbonate, Transitions Brown and Grey, 1.6 and 1.67 high-index plastic.
