The scheme will run as a two-year cycle with a requirement for members to gain 15 points per year of which seven must be earned by attendance at live events. A CPD certificate will be issued yearly, logging points earned.
Members of the Association of Optometrists Ireland (AOI) have voted in favour of compulsory continuous education with the first rolling cycle to start in August 2008.
