AOP gives fee advice

The Association of Optometrists is to expand on its VAT accounting method advice to its members in a series of seminars to be held nationally during January and February.

The seminars, which start on January 28, will be held in Bristol, London, Manchester and Glasgow. Speakers at the seminars will include Ian Hayes, a partner in the AOP's tax advisers, Buzzacott, and Malachy Cornwall-Kelly, a former chairman of the VAT & Duties Tribunal. David Craig, AOP deputy secretary (communications), said: 'There has been much confusion lately over the issue of VAT. The AOP has investigated the issue thoroughly and, through these seminars wishes to explain the Professional Fee Accounting Method.' Practitioners, accountants and VAT advisers are also invited to attend the seminars.
