A register where students and pre-regs can list their availability for placements and practices can search for pre-regs has been launched by the Association of Optometrists (AOP).
It was launched to help those who lost placements during the coronavirus pandemic and provide a platform to showcase their skills to practices in their area.
Dr Ian Beasley, the AOP’s head of education, said: ‘Pre-regs offer a unique solution to utilising redundant consulting room space while working at a pace that lends itself well to current circumstances, as well as providing an extra pair of clinical hands.’
