AOP plans therapeutics event

Career workshops and conference on independent prescribing to be offered

Optical body The Association of Optometrists (AOP) has launched its autumn events programme, including career workshops and a conference on independent prescribing.

Its career workshops will return with dates in September and November, while Therapuetics London runs from 25-26 September in partnership with SECO International.

Dr Ian Beasley, the AOP’s head of education, said: ‘Our annual conference is ideal for those who are independent prescriber (IP) qualified, contemplating taking this route, or simply wanting to broaden their clinical skill set.’

Other autumn conferences included the National Optical Conference (NOC) in Birmingham on November 10 and 11 and its Student Conference in Warwick on November 26 and 27, an AOP statement added.

The association’s peer discussion and legal roadshows will also continue to tour the UK. With three interactive CET points available, the peer discussion roadshows will start in September in Loughborough, followed by Cambridge, Sheffield and London. Also in September, legal roadshows will begin in Bradford, followed by Brighton.
