Daysoft has been ordered to remove two adverts from its website and revise its price comparison charts by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) after a complaint lodged by Specsavers was upheld earlier this week.
The complaints were made after Daysoft carried an advert on its site which stated 'Daysoft replaces other brands for half the price' and offered savings of up to £228 per year compared to 1-Day Acuvue from Specsavers online. In addition, a complaint was also made over an email sent to Daysoft customers explaining that its prices would be rising as a result of the government's plans to scrap Channel Islands VAT relief, which also made direct comparisons with Specsavers.
