Asda Opticians celebrates 25th anniversary with grand conference

Asda Opticians hosted over 300 of its optical professionals, managers and suppliers, as part of a grand optical conference at Edgbaston stadium on April 3, celebrating 25 years and a total of 156 UK practices.

Reflecting on its achievements and setting a clear vision for the future, the multiple announced the launch of Transitions GenS technology, changing UV-protected spectacle lenses from clear to tinted in a variety of fashion colours.

The milestone also coincided with the launch of a new online booking service, enabling customers to book appointments easily and conveniently through the Asda website or on their smartphone.

‘For over 25 years, Asda Opticians has put value at the heart of our offering,’ said Stuart Laird, head of optical at Asda, adding: ‘We remain committed to providing optical products and services at market-leading value, ensuring that trusted, quality, dependable eye care is accessible to all of our customers.

‘The opportunity for us to gather here together, back in Birmingham, where it all began back in 2000, was one not to be missed and I’m delighted to have had such a valuable time together as one team.’
