Aston EyeTech has secured £5m in funding from a UK investment group.
Mercia Technologies PLC, a firm which supports innovative technology businesses, helped to lead the company’s funding alongside an unnamed, major Asia-based investment syndicate.
According to Aston EyeTech, the funding will be used to ‘accelerate product development’ and ‘support the launch of new products’, including a range of power mapping lensmeters and binocular autorefractors.
The company received its first small seed investment in 2014 and since then has grown from developer to equipment manufacturer to full technology solutions provider. Now, it is helping to provide next generation eye diagnostics technology.
