
Interim head of Aston School of Optometry professor Leon Davies discussed the school’s research and clinics and its work to ensure good eye health in the new episode of Aston Originals Health Matters.
Research at the school has underpinned teaching to ensure all students are equipped for practice with the latest knowledge, including a research programme in dry eye, myopia and presbyopia.
The school has also run regular eye examination clinics where staff, students and members of the public could receive free routine tests. Students carried out the consultations, under the supervision of qualified optometrists, giving them the skills for practice.
